A Spanish company with 10 to 200 people that looks for "agentes de IA para pymes" in 2026 lands on three kinds of pages: agency directories, no-code platforms, and vendors describing enterprise projects that do not fit a business with one office and a WhatsApp number on the door. This guide is written for the third group's missing reader: the owner or operations lead of a clinic, an agency, an online shop, a workshop or a distributor who wants to know what an AI agent would actually do, what it costs in euros, which Spanish rules apply, and how to pick someone to build it.
Grow2.ai builds these agents and does so through a Spanish legal entity, Auspex Streamline SL in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, so we describe our own market. Where a different route serves a pyme better, we say so.
What does an AI agent do for a Spanish pyme?
For a small business in Spain, an AI agent is a custom piece of software that handles one front-office process on its own: it answers the inquiries that arrive on WhatsApp, Instagram, the website form and the phone, asks the qualifying questions, books the visit or the call, and writes everything into the CRM with the conversation attached. The practical difference from a chatbot is that the agent acts on your systems rather than only replying: it checks availability, creates the deal, updates the record, escalates to a person when it is unsure. The typical Spanish cases are a clinic that loses appointment requests after 20:00, a real-estate agency answering the same fifty questions about a listing, an online shop whose consultants cannot keep up with Instagram at peak, and a distributor with two people covering hundreds of resellers. In each, the agent takes the repeat volume and the after-hours gap; the team keeps the conversations that need judgment.
Four agents cover most pyme front-office work; each can be deployed alone and added later:
- Lead qualifier. Picks up every inbound message across WhatsApp, web and voice, asks four questions, scores the lead, books the meeting, hands off with context.
- FAQ agent. Answers the repeat questions from your price list, policies and documents, in Spanish and English, and escalates the rest.
- CRM hygiene. Logs calls, emails and WhatsApp threads into HubSpot, Pipedrive, Bitrix24 or Salesforce automatically.
- Voice agent. Answers inbound calls after hours and when the lines are full, in Spanish, English, Ukrainian or Russian.
How much does an AI agent cost for a small business in Spain?
A first AI agent for a Spanish pyme costs from €1,800 for a fixed-scope pilot to tens of thousands of euros for a custom build with a development agency. Grow2.ai's published plans are €1,800 for one agent on one channel with one CRM (14 days), €3,600 for two agents across several channels (21 days) and from €6,000 for the full front-office stack with voice (30 days), then €49–149 a month plus model usage; the pilot fee is refunded in full if the agreed KPI has not moved by day 30. Two Spain-specific items change the arithmetic. The Red.es Kit Consulting programme has funded advisory vouchers of €12,000 for companies with 10–49 employees, €18,000 for 50–99 and €24,000 for 100–249, covering AI advisory; calls open and close, so check the current status on acelerapyme.gob.es. And a Spanish company invoices you in euros under Spanish law, which matters for VAT, contracts and the data processing agreement.
Option | First-year cost (EUR) | Time to live | Spain notes |
|---|---|---|---|
No-code platform (Zapier, Make, n8n) | €8–70 / month | Days | Fine for structured flows; struggles with WhatsApp voice notes and free-text |
Studio pilot (Grow2.ai) | €1,800–6,000 pilot, then €49–149 / month | 14–30 days | Spanish entity, EU deployment, Spanish-language agents |
Custom build with an agency | €35,000–130,000 (order of magnitude) | 4–6 months | Ask who migrates the model in 2027 and at what fee |
Kit Consulting voucher (advisory only) | €12,000–24,000 funded | Depends on the call | 10–249 employees; covers advice, not the build |

What is specific to Spain: VeriFactu, RGPD and the AI Act?
Three rules shape an AI agent deployment in Spain and none of them is optional. First, invoicing: under Real Decreto-ley 15/2025, companies that file corporate tax must have their invoicing software adapted to the VeriFactu requirements before 1 January 2027, and all other taxpayers before 1 July 2027. An agent that drafts quotes or triggers invoices must feed a compliant system rather than generate documents on its own. Second, data protection: the RGPD applies to every conversation the agent stores, which in practice means EU-region deployment, personal data redacted from logs, a data processing agreement with the vendor, and a retention rule. Third, the EU AI Act: Article 50 requires that people are informed they are interacting with an AI system, so the agent must disclose itself on WhatsApp and on the phone, not only in a footer. A builder who cannot show how the deployment meets all three is not ready for the Spanish market.
- VeriFactu. The agent hands off to the invoicing system; it does not become one. Deadlines: 1 January 2027 (corporate taxpayers), 1 July 2027 (everyone else).
- RGPD. EU deployment, PII redaction in logs, DPA on request, retention defined before launch.
- AI Act, Article 50. The agent says it is an AI at the start of the conversation and when asked.
- Languages. Spanish first; English for international clients; ask about Catalan, Galician or Basque if your customers write in them.
Who builds AI agents for small businesses in Spain?
Four kinds of providers build AI agents for pymes in Spain, and they differ more in who carries the risk than in the technology. Marketing agencies that added AI to their offer usually resell a platform and configure it; fast, cheap, and limited to structured flows. Freelance developers can build a capable agent, but ask who maintains it when the model is retired. Software agencies deliver custom builds on a project basis, at agency prices and agency timelines. Agent studios, which is Grow2.ai's category, productise the custom build into a fixed-scope pilot with a KPI, a refund condition and a monthly maintenance fee. Whichever kind you talk to, the checks are the same: a before-metric from your CRM, an evaluation set from your real conversations, shadow mode before launch, ownership of code and data, EU deployment, and a written answer to "what happens when the model is retired". The seven questions that separate a builder from a prompt shop are in how to choose an AI agent development company.
How does Grow2.ai work with Spanish companies?
Grow2.ai is the AI agents division of Auspex, a CRM implementation company founded by Andrew Maryasov in 2015 with 1,500+ projects behind it. The legal entity for both brands is Auspex Streamline SL, registered in Spain in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; contracts, invoices and the data processing agreement are Spanish, in euros, and deployment runs in an EU region. Auspex is a Bitrix24 Gold Partner in Spain and implements HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce as well, which is the data layer an agent needs before it can be useful. The engineering team works from Lviv, Ukraine, online-first, with Spanish- and English-speaking delivery and the founder on every kickoff call. To be precise about track record: the agent deployments published so far are in Ukraine, Georgia and the United States; the Spanish work to date is CRM implementation through Auspex. The pilot format is the same in every market: free audit, "where leads die" spreadsheet on day five, fixed-fee pilot live within 14 days, KPI review on day 30.
Three published deployments that map onto common Spanish cases:
- Booking assistant for dental clinics: booking and FAQ 24/7 across four channels, the after-hours gap closed.
- RAG consultant for e-commerce: 100–500 requests an hour at peak, answered over the catalogue and integrated with the ERP.
- Voice agent for rentals: inbound calls for a rental agency, synced to the CRM, listing status kept current.
Start with the 2-minute self-assessment or book the audit call. If the CRM itself is the problem, the Spanish CRM guide from Auspex, best CRM for an SMB in Spain, is the place to start.
